Bond Tracker — how customers agree to receive texts
Georgia Law Enforcement · updated August 7, 2026
Bond Tracker is used inside bonding company offices. A customer arranging a bond can ask to be sent progress updates about that bond by text. This page shows exactly how that agreement is obtained, because it happens face to face rather than on a website.
Where it happens
A customer comes into a bonding company's office to arrange a bond for someone in custody. While the paperwork is being completed, a member of staff asks whether they would like text updates on progress. There is no online sign-up, no advertising, and no list. A number is only ever entered while the customer is standing there and has asked for it.
What the customer is told, word for word
Staff read this aloud before entering any number:

Staff cannot send anything without passing this screen, and the same disclosure appears on it:
Give the customer the tracker
Scan the code or send the link. They enter the inmate number to follow progress themselves.
What they receive
- A link to follow that bond, sent once.
- Up to three updates for that bond: paperwork received, person brought down, released.
- Nothing else. No marketing, ever. When the bond ends, the messages end.
Example: "Bond update: the person has been brought down for release. Reply STOP to opt out."
